The Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on Thursday said that the abandoned Akobo-Ojuirin road will be re-awarded within the next 4 to 6 weeks.
The Governor said this while featuring on an Independence Day program on the state-owned Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).
Makinde lamented that the previous administration awarded the road to an incompetent contractor who could not do anything meaningful on it.
He recalled how the contractor came to meet him when he assumed office, alleging that they were being owed by the state government but when they opened the books, it was discovered that the contractor only wanted to short-change the state.
Makinde said he was following due process in reawarding the road and thinking of the best option that will get the road done within the shortest possible time.
