Why I’m Still Struggling At Arsenal- Pepe Reveals

Arsenal midfielder, Nicolas Pepe has revealed  why he appears to be struggling at the North London team.

TheEcho reports that Arsenal broke their transfer record in the summer to sign the Ivorian from Lille for £72million over a five-year deal.

Pepe revealed that he has lost his confidence and working hard to regain it.

He said his disappointing performance may be due to change of league and environment.

He, however, said he was not bothered about his statistics as some people might be.

Pepe’s form has not been encouraging since the start of the season. He only has a goal to his name in eight appearances, thanks to a spot-kick against struggling Aston Villa.

While featuring against Manchester United on Monday, he lost possession 17 times and had to be substituted for youngster Reiss Nelson some few minutes to the end of the match.

“[My start] It’s not been easy, we must tell the truth.

“I’m not good enough in my stats or my usual form, it’s not the same as in Lille or during the Liverpool match early in the season.

“The confidence must come back. I am not very worried. People may be worried about statistics, but I’m not.

“I have to keep working because the level is different, so is the language. It’s a new championship for me. I have to adapt quickly but it will not be long,” Pepe told RMC.
