UEFA Super Cup: What Kante told me at extra-time- Lampard reveals

Chelsea Head Coach, Frank Lampard, has revealed what midfielder, N’golo Kante told him during the club’s UEFA Super Cup encounter with Liverpool on Wednesday.

The game ended in favour of Liverpool after the Reds clinched victory through penalty shootout.

The two English clubs played a 2-2 draw for 120 minutes before heading for a shootout where Liverpool triumphed on 5-4 after Adrian stopped Abraham’s kick.

Kante returned from injury and dominated the midfield for Chelsea throughout the game.

However, Lampard said the French International told him that he was struggling with the structure of the game.

“Kante said to me at half-time in extra-time that his legs were finished, his legs were dead, and then he’s sprinting 50 yards to cover,” Lampard was quoted by Express UK as saying.

Kante is expected to play a huge role for Chelsea as the club take on Leicester City on Sunday in their second Premier League game of the season.
