GIES Football Observatory, a Switzerland-based football research group, has named three players from the Nigerian extraction that are doing exceptionally well in European football.
According to the group, Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze of Villarreal and Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi are the best three Nigerian players in Europe.
GIES Football Observatory reached its conclusion by analyzing the performance of the players on match-on-match basis to determine their performance and efficiency on individual and collective levels for the last six months.
Out of the 861 players ranked throughout the continent, the trio of Ndidi, Chukwueze and Iwobi were the best-performing players.
With a score of 76.6%, Ndidi clinched 238th position while Chukwueze took 317th spot with a score of 75.0% and Iwobi was the 384th ranked player with a score of 73.6%.
The three players were instrumental to Nigeria’s bronze medal success in the recently concluded African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
