UI rusticates 16 students, expels 5 others

The management of Nigeria’s premier varsity, University of Ibadan, has rusticated sixteen students and expelled five others for various offences.

Checks by TheEcho revealed that all the students expelled were of the distance learning mode of the institutions. They are Ajuwon Gabriel, Yetunde Mary Agbanigo, Kehinde Samuel Aluko, Olufemi Olusegun Ogunwo and Saheed Ademola Oshodi with matriculation numbers, EO27559, EO30033, EO16154, EO23128 and EO25356, respectively.

Olubunmi Faluyi, the Registrar of the school, made it known in a bulletin that the Central Student Disciplinary Committee (CSDC), of the institution reached a conclusion on the erring students during its meeting held on Thursday, May 9, 2019.

Faluyi explained further that out of the 16 students rusticated, 10 were of the distance learning while the other 6 were of regular mode.

The affected students were rusticated for an academic session due to examination misconduct.

The students are: Adekemi O. Balogun, EO26918 (Communication and Language Arts); Seyi Odufuwa, EO28153 (Department of Economics); Blessing Ajeh, EO15987 (Guidance & Counselling).

Lydia Usman, EO17123; Omi-Damola Oyin, EO22060; Otepola Adeniyi, EO29832; Yekini Saheed Abiodun, EO24999, all from the Department of Political Science, Faculty of the Social Sciences.

Rebecca Ediale, EO15163; Ogiogwa Eunice E EO37834 and Lawal Kafilat Ajibola, EO 37850, from the Department of Social Work completed the list.

On their own part, 6 students of the  Archaeology and Anthropology Department were rusticated for a session due to gross misconduct.

Those affected are Temidayo D. Orimoloye, 184354; Opeyemi Abon, 183966; Opeoluwa Oloundare, 184331; Olalekan S. Adejumo, 190213; Akinboade Adesomoju, 184008 and David O. Gabriel, 185843.
