Surprises keep springing up in the results of the Saturday Presidential and Legislative elections as Oyo Governor, Abiola Ajimobi was crushed out of Oyo South Senatorial race by Muhammad Kola Balogun of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
TheEcho recalls that Ajimobi had earlier represented the senatorial district at the red chamber between 2003 and 2007 under the platform of Alliance for Democracy (AD).
Announcing the results at Agodi Gate, the headquarters of Ibadan North Local Government Area, Professor Wole Akinsola said the PDP candidate garnered a total of 105,720 votes while Ajimobi, popularly referred to as ‘Mr. Constituted Authority’ trailed behind him with 92,218 votes.
Surprisingly too, Soji Akanbi, the incumbent lawmaker representing the zone polled 49,437 for ADC.
