Chelsea gaffer, Maurizio Sarri said his squad playmaker, Eden Hazard is free to leave the club if he feels like.
However, the Italian quickly expressed optimism that he hopes the Belgian does the opposite.
Sarri made the proclamation ahead of the Blues’ clash with Bournemouth on Wednesday in their Premier League fixture.
The Red Devils skipper has been linked several times with a move to Spanish side, Real Madrid.
His contract runs till the end of next season and if the West London side fail to renew it, they will lose him to free transfer.
“Eden is 28. If he wants to go, I think he has to go,” Team Talk quotes the Italian gaffer.
“Of course, I hope the opposite, I hope he wants to stay here. He has the potential to be the best player in Europe at the moment.”
Sarri added: “It’s my job to improve him and put him in a position to do his best”.
With the arrival of Higuain, Sarri is now expected to return Hazard to the wings instead of the improvised ‘false nine’ he has been using him for in the past few games.
