The only condition I will replace Mourinho at Manchester United- Conte reveals

Former Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has shown interest in being the head coach of Manchester United at the end of the season.

However, the Italian said that will happen only on a permanent basis, according to the UK Sun.

The Old Trafford side axed Jose Mourinho on Tuesday and immediately began looking around for an interim manager, a role Conte is not keen on.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was eventually put in charge for the rest of the season.

United will now conduct a search for a permanent boss, but the club view Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino as their “ideal” candidate.

Pochettino, though, is in two minds about leaving Spurs and United will need a decision before the season finishes, in order to ensure their man is in place in time.

Conte left Chelsea at the end of last season after the Blues defeated United 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

TheEcho recalled that Conte also turned down the chance to take charge of Real Madrid on a temporary basis, following Julen Lopetegui’s sack.
