Buhari approves N30,000 new minimum wage

President Muhammadu Buhari has on Tuesday approved N30,000 as the new national minimum wage.

He gave the approval shortly after he received the report of the Tripartite Committee on the Review of National Minimum Wage at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

A bill expected to be sent to legislative arm of government so that a constitutional change can be effected from the current N18,000 to N30,000.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) had earlier threatened to go on an indefinite strike before the representatives of the government met with their leadership on Monday evening where the government succumbed to the demands of the union.
