Dani Ceballos – “I trust Lopetegui and we are all with him until the death”

Julen Lopetegui’s Real Madrid side suffered yet another defeat in LaLiga Santander on Saturday afternoon and Dani Ceballos admits that the mood in the squad is not good.

The midfielder was the first to speak after Los Blancos fell 2-1 at home to Levante in what was still, despite their recent poor run, a shock loss for the European champions.

“We feel very bad,” Ceballos said to beIN LaLiga after the game. “This was a game that we had to win with no excuses.”

Ceballos was introduced as a second half substitute and expressed some bemusement with the fact that Madrid managed to lose the game. “We had a lot of chances,” he added. “Their goalkeeper was the best player in the game. “We cannot have so many defeats in a row, we have to reflect and face each other in the next game.”

Lopetegui has come under pressure in recent weeks and with El Clasico coming up next weekend, some have called for the coach to be dismissed immediately but Ceballos is standing by his boss.

“I don’t make the decisions. “I trust Lopetegui and we are all with him until the death”
