When corps members’ monthly allowance will be increased- NYSC DG reveals

The Director-General of National Youth Services Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen. Suleiman Zakari Kazaure Saturday revealed that corps members’ monthly stipends would be increased once the Federal Government increases the minimum wage of civil servants.

He said this while dispelling the rumour that the monthly allowance of corps members have been increased. Speaking at Delta Orientation Camp where he was addressing Batch B, Stream II corps members deployed to the state and Anambra, Kazaure noted that the corps members were not different from the nation’s civil servants.

He assured them of their safety in all their places of primary assignment they would be posted to as the scheme had collaborated with all security agencies in the state.

Kazaure further implored the corps members to be good ambassadors of the country and maintain their neutrality during the 2019 general elections where they would be used as ad-hoc staff.

Kazaure cautioned them to avoid being involved in “yahoo business, 419, night parties and not to be deceived by politicians as 2019 elections are coming closer.

“Anywhere you find yourselves, be neutral. Also be good ambassadors and be patriotic to your country. Anyone found wanting will be dealt with,” Daily Post quoted him.
