Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho, has given reason why he decided to drop new signing Fred for Fellaini in their 2-0 win over Burnley on Sunday.
The Red Devils paid £52million to land the Brazilian from Shakhtar Donetsk during the summer and he started the first three fixtures of the season.
However, Mourinho decided to leave him on the bench throughout the game with Fellaini replacing him in the line-up.
Explaining his decision, Mourinho told UK Mirror: “They are physical, they are direct. They go very direct to the box, they try to create crossing situations, they try to have lots of set pieces.
“They are very pragmatic and we thought that we need a little bit of Marouane’s physicality for that.”
