Why I decide to pardon Ayefele- Ajimobi

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has revealed the reason why his government has now decided to pardon popular Musician, Yinka Ayefele.

The government had on Sunday partially demolished Ayefele’s Music House, a structure housing his private radio station, Fresh Fm, Ibadan.

The Governor in an interview with the BBC said Ayefele would be pardoned because he has appealed to him and not on the basis of being physically challenged.

Ajimobi, who has been widely criticised for the demolition, said the Musician’s health does not give him the liberty to break the law at will.

He said: “Ayefele didn’t obey the law. People are saying he should be pardoned because he is physically challenged.

“So, does being physically challenged give one the right to break the law? They said he employed people, but even thieves employ people. Should we say a thief should continue stealing because he employed people?

“And we warned him (Ayefele) about the building. Now that he has appealed, we will pardon him, but we must always obey the law.”
