Chelsea midfielder, Cesc Fabregas says the debate over who was the better player between Brazil’s Neymar and Belgium’s Eden Hazard has been settled after Friday’s quarter final clash between the two teams.
Hazard-led Belgium recorded a historic victory against Brazil in the encounter to qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup in Russia.
While Hazard had a fantastic display during the encounter, Neymar was uninspiring.
Fernandinho’s own-goal and Kevin De Bruyne’s long-range shot in the first-half gave the Red Devils the deserving lead before substitute Renato Augusto pulled one back for the Brazilians.
With the result, it means the trio of Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar are out of the tournament.
After Belgium recorded the victory, Fabregas took to the social media to throw shades at Neymar, suggesting that the debate of who was better between Hazard and Neyamr was done.
He wrote: “@PrimeHazard, the third best player in the world. Its done. The debate is over.”
