NYSC: Corps members decry delay in payment of June allowance

Corps members under the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) have registered their displeasure over the delay in payment of their June allowance.

TheEcho gathered that the corps members were yet to receive their June stipends as of July 4th.

Since Tuesday, some of the aggrieved corps members have taken to the scheme’s social media pages to beg the NYSC authorities to hasten up on the payment of their monthly allowance.

Some of them lamented that the scheme trivialized them by not issuing an official statement to keep them informed on the reason for the delay.

Below are some of the comments fetched by our correspondents on the NYSC official Facebook page.

One Akanji Toheeb Olawale urged the scheme to even consider paying a half of the stipends as he was becoming hypertensive of texts coming on his phone.

“Even if it is just half, no message is giving me joy again. Everytime my phone bleeps,my heart go dey beat allawee allawee allawee b4 reading d text. Oga o,” he posted.
