Belgium Skipper, Eden Hazard says Ronaldo and Messi’s exit from the World Cup has offered him the opportunity to shine in the tournament.
TheEcho recalls that the two best players dominating the football sphere for the last one decade crashed out of the World Cup on Saturday when their sides suffered defeat during their last 16 encounter.
Hazard will be leading his side against Japan in their last 16 encounter on Monday evening. According to the Chelsea playmaker, it is his wish to get to the final of the competition and maybe, end up lifting the coveted trophy.
“They are not in the World Cup, so now it is time to shine. I want to go through the quarter-final, semi-final and maybe the final.
“I am not the only one, of course. Messi and Ronaldo, they are out now, but there are still a lot of good players at the World Cup. We will see at the end what happens,” he told newsmen on Sunday.
