Mikel scores first China goal as Tianjin wins

John Obi Mikel scored his first goal in China to help Tianjin Teda to a 2-0 win in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.
Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel special moment came as his 48th minute strike put Tanjin Teda on course for their first win of the season.The goal and win came against Chongqing Lifan.
The goal was Mikel’s first after three games in the Chinese Super League since joining Tianjin from Chelsea in the January transfer window. Also in action for Tianjin Teda was Mikel’s Nigerian teammate Brown Ideye who was replaced in the 65th minute by Dong Wang, as he fired blanks.
Meanwhile, another Super Eagles star Odion Ighalo was on the losing side in the Chinese Super League on Sunday morning as his club, Changchun Yatai were beaten 2-0 at home by Shandong Luneng.
Ighalo, who also doubles as Changchun’s captain, led the line for his side, but fired blanks as they suffered yet another defeat which has now seen them slip to the bottom of the league table.
